My dad has a 2002 Silverado 5.3L auto 2WD that is giving him a problem. Yesterday out of the blue he hears a clunk when leaving his driveway and then a whirring noise. He went to back up into the driveway and reverse was not working.
The truck has approx 56000 km. The truck is used to pull a trailer frequently but has the trailering package (heavy duty tranny?)
Anybody ever had this? Sounds like a major problem but would like to hear from other owners before taking it in.
