Does anyone know from what year vehicles or types that a 94 Silverado 2WD can use of the 4L60E. I can get a 99 out of a transam but not sureif it will work and neither does the seller. Thanks for helping the Newb.

The 4L60E is what it is, no matter what vehicle. At most you may have to swap bell housings to the one off your truck, but that's not a big deal. To my knowledge the bolt pattern for the bell housing has remained unchanged since the initial production of that transmission up to today.
However someone can feel free to correct me, if they know differently.

Thank you for the help, I have been searching the net trying to find the answer. I was under the impression they were the same except 2WD versus 4WD. Thanks again

Yes, any 4L60E should work. You can check with Drivetrain Specialists (http://www.drivetrain.com/) for more info. P.S. make sure to fill the torque converter with fluid during the swap.

Hey unplugged,

Thanks for the link but I have one question. It shows a 4L60E & 4L80E for 95-06 Silverado 1500. Mine is a 94, how can I find out if it is either of those and if so. Which one it would be.

I hate to say this *wispers quietly* I have always been a Ford man but have always loved the Silverados. So....I am just entering pre-school with these.

Thanks again for all of the help. You guys are awesome.

The 4L80E trans pan has 17 bolts and is shaped like:

The 4L60E trans pan is the same as the 700R4, has 16 bolts and looks like:

Last question and this has got to be a dumb one. Can I use the transmission out of a 4WD vehicle or is the tailshaft differant. Thanks again for all of your help. I went ahead and bought the truck and now lost out on the tranny deal I had set up. Its hard to find a decent one without spending over 500
