I don't really like the running boards and one is dented anyways. Do these come off easily?

I would think they're bolted on
I wish I had a set of full length ones on my '89

Hmmm....The running boards should be pretty easy to take off of any vehicle.

Hello Newbie. I have never had running boards except on a 40 Chevy I had as a kid back on a farm in CT. The removal of the running boards on a 99 Chevy truck I suspect will become very intuitive. You just need to crawl under there, get a little dirty, take a close look at what is holding them in place, and go for it. Have you tried this yet? I could be totally wrong, but I suspect it would be easy to remove them. The holes left behind should be treated to prevent corrosion - another story depending on what is left behind.
