Does anyone know if it is possible to replace just the side tank on a radiator? Does anyone know the best and lowest priced place to get a radiator for a 99 Chevy Tahoe 5.7 Vortec w/AC and oil cooler?

You can replace just the tanks on a radiator, if you have never done it before it's probably best left to a pro. As far as replacement radiators, check 1-800-radiator, we use them at work and they have been very competitive with pricing and have a good product.

Is it just me or when you google radiators you get places like radiator.com, radiators.com, or 1-800radiator.com all of which look and feel very similar. I think they are all part of the 1800radiator.com franchise (http://www.1800radiator.com/index.htm). Not a big deal, but why so many different sites that are really taking you to the same place?

I bought a radiator a couple of years back for my burb from radiator.com and the price was better than any local shop and delivery was the next day. You should go armed with a local price quote. They play the game "there are several radiators spec'd for your truck ranging from $99 to $299" They did beat the quote I had from a local shop.

If you do want to consider a DIY repair, check out extremehowto.com. (http://www.extremehowto.com/xh/article.asp?article_id=60425) They have a good overview, and then you decide, repair or replace.:glasses:
