Hi All:

I have a 99' GMC Envoy (Jimmy) with the HID high-intensity headlights. The passenger side blew. Replacement cost for these is hideous. You need the igniter and ballast (and headlight) which will total around $800.

Does anyone know if these headlights can be "converted" back to a standard Jimmy headlight assembly? OR......is there a more reasonable source for these components. I've tried GM PartsDirect, which doesn't offer much of a discount from what the Dealer would charge.

Thanks.

I'm afraid I don't know what the OE harnesses look like, may they be 9006 styled or not.

But aftermarket HID's are much cheaper. I have a Xentec kit, 8000K for 9006 bulb purchased off EBay for $120 shipped. And thats two ballasts w/ internal ignitors and two D2S HID bulbs

But again, I don't know what O.E. HID set ups use.
