this type of accident is avoidable. people don't realize that it takes a train traveling @ 55 mph over 1 mile to come to a complete stop. it is also illegal to go around gates that are lowered.
my condolences do go out to the family of the Marine that was killed, and My thoughts go out to the crew on the train,as they were totally helpless, and sometimes the crew members can suffer emotional problems from an accident like this.
