Rate this Entry
Bought a new inline fuel filter for my 03 2500HD w/8.1 and see on the box to release line pressure before replacing filter. OK, so how do I release that pressure? thanks

I lay a rag over the filter and line then just slowly loosen the lines at the filter. If it does shoot out fuel then the rag should stop it before it hits you. I have done hundreds and never had one squirt fuel at me. I know guys that go press the valve on the fuel rail under the hood (where you hook a fuel pressure tester). Post your question in the forum next time, you may get more responses.
