Road trippin' in the Us

So here we are. Kansas City, Missouri. Third day of our 3 week road trip.

We left on time from Calgary at 10:30 Wed. morning. Made it here by 4:30 (local time) on Thurs. 30 some hrs of wheat and corn fields. Wow that was a boring drive! But not that it was bad drive. Wife's Saturn Vue ate up the miles (and Kms) with ease. Averaged about 29 mpg( 35 cdn) with the exception of one tank of fuel bought in Winnipeg that I only got 25.5 Same speed. Same driving conditions. Strange? Still, not bad for a car with 3.5 v6. Two sets of golf clubs and 4 suite cases, in the back as well.

And for those of you that are kind of interested in the price of gas, here you go. : Wed - Calgary , AB - $1.249/ L
Wed - Regina , Sask - $1.319/ L
Wed - Brandon, Man - $ 1.299/ L
Wed - Winnipeg, Man - $ 1.299/ L
Thru - Watertown, SD - $ 3.59 / G
Thru - St. Joseph, Mo - $ 3.44/ G

It cost me about $15 - $18 Cdn LESS to fill up once I got south of the border.

Staying here now until Tues morning when we head to Houston with the borther-in-law. Don't think it will be enough though. There seems to be alot to do here. Just came back from the National World War I meseum. Very cool to a history buff like me.

Any suggestions on some things to do or see, Let me know.

You should be getting that Houston humidity by now. You might think about a trip down to Galveston. Lots of great places to eat, along the sea wall! Good golf course over in La Porte, if you have time.

    That's a world-class trip you've got going on. I'm jealous!
