Hopefully I'm ready....

It's Saturday night. I think Gustav is scheduled to make landfall Monday night. I'm hoping I'm ready for this. The yards are cleaned of most everything that can be turned into a projectile. We used what boards we had to board up the windows as best as possible. We took all of our drinks and loaded them into the fridge, set the fridge to its coldest setting, and loaded the freezer full of ice. I have a 75 watt inverter in the car to charge phones and laptops. I have 3 different laptops fully charged, and my roommates have one each. We have a hand-crank powered radio tuned to 870AM. I still haven't picked up my computers or anything off the floor. Howefver, I'm not expecting the house to flood either. Of course since I think it won't, it will... The suburban and bronco are full of fuel. Unfortunately, we were not able to arrange for a generator. I do have 4 UPSs to help with powering small stuff. If the heat is unbearable in the house, I can run the burb or car and sit in the A/C. My uncle's staying on the other side of Slidell and he has a couple of generators, so I should be able to get with him if I need anything.

My biggest worry is the wind and possible tornados. Well, I'll try to post more as things progress..
