Power's Out

Rate this Entry
Well, around 7:45am today, we lost power at the house. Prior to that, we had the power blink on and off sporadically, but everything was ok. As of now, my wireless router is being supported by a UPS. I have 3 other UPSs to spare, one of them being significantly bigger than the others. I just heard on the radio that there was a tornado warning in central St Tammany parish, which is where Slidell is located. We're sitting here patiently waiting for something to happen. Well, that's all for now. I still need to snap some pics, but from the view of the house, there's nothing really interesting to note... I'll keep ya'll updated as I can.

I'm not sure to say besides the usual good luck, hope everything turns out alright, and that everyone/thing comes out healthy and in one piece. I'd say don't bother trying to get pictures if it means you'll risk getting the neighbor's picket fence to the face.

I heard that it may take a week or longer before things get stable down there again, take care of yourself (you have connectivity???) and let us know when you're getting back to normal!

I love it when the power is out. I dont know why. I just hate using generators. I've had a bad experience with them. I've blown a couple up. I have no clue how they blew up, but they did and i KNOW there was oil in them, so we stoped buying generators and we rough it out. I'm fine with the power out, but it's the two women of the house that seem to go insane "oh, i can't go without my curling iron" or "i have friends i have to talk to on the computer".
