The Story Begins

So I have recently purchased my 2002 Chevy Avalanche 2500 in April. Found it on Craigslist for $12500 with only 37000 miles. What a Deal. When I drove it home heard a faint exhaust leak. Which was actually a really bad exhaust leak, but the noise dampening of the cab was so good that I barely heard it. There were 2 exhaust manifold studs broken off. One on each side. I got quotes in upwards of $1500 to fix it. Normally I would tackled it myself but I would be back and forth to Korea for work all summer long and didn't have the time.
I called the previous owner and told him the issue. Massachusett law really protects car buyers well with there lemon law. He said he take the vehicle back or give me $500 towards fixing it. I really loved the truck so I took the 500. My wife had a friend who was working for a guy that just recently opened a shop and was looking for new customers. He said lowside $550 and high side $1300.
Had him do a tune up while he was in there too. So the over all total was $855. I think I made out pretty good.
I've worked the truck pretty hard since I've had it and she just keeps wanting more. Now I'm on to modding. First I think I'll start with a CAI and throttle body spacer. Then 4" lift with 33" tires. Then we'll see where it goes from there.
It nice that this forum is here. I know I'll have lots of questions for you all. And in the process I hope I can help a few people along the way.
