As my truck is nearing 12 years old, various parts of the dash facing are beginning to fade, scuff, etc. I have always liked the look of the wood dash, and am I wondering if any of you have ever used any of the dash kits. I know they come in wood, plasti-wood, carbon fiber, aluminum, etc. They are just adhesive kits, and want to know how they hold up. After all, that is what the dealer's use if you order that as a dealer install. Prices range from about $50 to over $400...I am sure price matters, but I would prefer to do it for around $100 or so.

I am looking for answers as to quality, fit, and longevity. I already know a lot of folks think they look cheesy, so not looking for opinions on how they look. thanks....

I am moving this weekend but all next week I'll be on vacation. I am going to use that time to settle into my new apartment and hopefully find a new bed for my truck. I have been wanting to swap it out for a couple years now - the whole right side is caved in from a wreck. Prior to now, I either had the time to look for a bed but not the money or I had the money but not the time. Now I finally have both and am wanting to get this done.

Once I find a new bed, I am wanting to put some LED taillights in it. So, my question is, what are some good companies to get LED taillights from? Also, what are some good grille companies? If I can find my bed, swap out all the rear lights for LEDs and put a new grille in, I think my truck will be complete, at least as far as extior looks are concernced.

Hello GMTC!!

My name is James, and less than 24 hours bought my first GM truck, 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, Crew Cab, with the 8ft bed (yeah diving into the deep end of the pool)

Unfortunately the dealer has to have it delivered since the one we wanted was somewhere out of state.

I have owned a RX-7, a few Honda racers, and a couple of Honda SUVs, but I honestly can't remember the last time I was this excited about owning a vehicle. I think the whole "anticipation" adds to it, but that hasn't stopped me from looking at what toys to buy for it.

I live in Southeast Virginia, married for about 3 years, no kids yet. I work for the state government as a computer network engineer. I love to smoke cigars, drink any fine liquor of the whisky variety, play poker, watch my Vikings play, and Nascar (yea, prototypical male).

My dad grew me up in the tradition to have no love for Ford, and years and years later, it amazes me to see that it stuck. I will post pics once I get the truck, oh will I post pics LOL....

So lets the start the n00b questions that probably will get answered with a forum thread link because I am too lazy to search:

1) What site do you recommend for truck accessories?
2) What were the first 3 accessories you bought for your truck?
3) I don't know how hardcore the Silverado community is, but some tell me it rivals Corvette's fan base.....true?

Can't wait to hit the road with her!!

Hello all,

Over the past month or so I've been pretty inactive..the time just seemed to get shorter and shorter. But, in my absence I've completed a few mods that I have been wanting to do for a while now -- so I figured I would share. As always, feel free to give me thoughts and feedback!

First mod: Recon LED Tail lights:

Next: Tailgate bezel

Had leftover paint....so I decided to go along with SurrealOne's transformer stuff, with an added twist:

Haven't decided what to do with it yet...but it turned out pretty cool!

Gibson Stainless Headers:
--Not installed yet, will be soon!

Next on the list is 4.10s! Let me know what you think guys!

obviously something isnt right, i contacted the company that i bought these from and am hoping they will respond soon, because its is the little things like this that irritate the heck outta me...

but overall, I freaking love these things!!!! I can see so much amazingly better and can now utilize my passenger side to parallel park and see my right rear tire and how close it gets to the curb, I am in love with these things, but obviously i would be 100% satisfied were it not for this flaw...

I do plan on doing the tow mirror leveling mod to just for aesthetics purposes and I will post whenever I do it.

cheers!

I want to get rid of my dronemaster 44. I want to true dual it after the cats, on a 2009 chevy silverado 5.3L... would i need an h-pipe or x-pipe to make it sound better? I want to put long tubes and get rid of the cats in the future as well, but just a new muffler for now.
I have been looking into Part Number 17231.

Does anyone know if SLP, CRANE or other venders that make aftermarket roller rockers work on the newer GM 4.8/5.3/6.0L motors with AFM/DOD? I suppose motors from late 2008 - 2013. I don't use DOD since it has been tuned out, and I haven't seen any aftermarket covering the newer GM motors. I don't know if the valvetrain is different from GENIII or if it's still the same design.

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for some opinions on cat back exhaust systems for my 2007 Sierra 1500 with 4.8L, I want to keep the exhaust as close to stock sound as possible but be able to gain a bit of power to help my CAI and canned tune come to life. Right now I actually like the power the 4.8L is making with just the CAI and the Diablo 87 octane with hard shifts tune installed, the truck accelerates hard and doesn't attract attention doing it so I want to keep the truck quiet but fast, sleeper.

Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
