Both the low beams were working. One of them was very dim. Only on of the high beams were working. Everything else was working fine.
Were they working before you changed them? or did the old ones quit?
I'm thinking a fuse, but I can't recall if that vintage had a fuse block under

Check the wiring that is on the floor by the driver's feet. That can become worn and short out. Look for it at the left kick panel and work your way
There's fun to be had, just not to the extent or level that he would prefer at this point
