Thanks for the props spring... I dont claim to be any kind of expert but i do try to help when i can... As to the AC controller.. Thanks to your write up i figured out one part of the AC problem with my truck and know the reason for it. I was having intermittent Fan speed increases.. I hit the switch a couple of times after reading your write up and wouldnt you know messing with it actually made it work right.
To bad im in the middle of a porch rebuild (jerk that owned the place before me didnt have a clue!!) and Trying to get some fishing done. Also upgrading my wifes Lumina to an LT lumina before the guy i found with parts takes the whole car to the junk yard (less than $200 and i have the Steering wheel audio controls, Factory CD player, Dual Zone Climate control, Power bucket seats, Tach cluster, New pwr window switches, and a few little odds and ends so major SCORE!)... So somehow my truck needs to get work done in there..

Bro, Sorry I have not had any communications in a LONG LONG TIME with you, have not even set foot on here since almost a year ago. Shutdown here, not sure why except that I have little time with all other things going on around the house, projects, our trucks and so on. I have NOT forgotten our friendship and would still like to hook up again if possible, when, I do not know????
I will email your personnel account and keep in touch that way for now and here when I get on. Hope that is still good with you? Everything is good, all are well and doing great. Have a granddaughter who just turned one on the 30th of July, she is great and got to see them all over the 4th of July on vacation in your state.... Sorry again for falling off the earth, but I will return...

Actually spent $1000 on a 95 Lumina (probably worth 2to 3times that since it has low miles (60K) and everything works and is in great shape)... And it left me with plenty!!!!

Yep means more go fast goodies.. Well i actually used the money to buy my wife a used car, since we would have needed to share and that wouldnt have worked with our schedules.. But yes there are parts on the horizon now!! its gonna be great!

HAHAA.. Sorry dont mean to laugh at your misfortune. Its HOT here to for MN.. its 92degrees up here right now. One of the few days of the year that i work inside.. I have AC in my house so that is nice. And when i was living in Ga my AC did the same thing on a wonderful 100 plus day (the temp in my house peaked at just over 103degrees, and never got below 95 not good sleeping temp).. So i know and feel your pain..
As for fun an exciting.. Work!! thats about it.. Oh and my 1988 3/4ton sold last night. Finally out of my hair.

Hey spring im kinda curious where you got those Headlights from?? And is the grill custom as well? I want to change my grill out for a GMC grill since i like the way it looks more but i like the way your headlights look. Makes it look mean and it would make a pretty cool addition to my truck as well.

Yeah as i mentioned about the snowmobile forum is the people who come from all over the place for the yearly Forum Get-together in MI.. last year there were a few people from Colorado, and Washington state.. Its just a matter of organization and time setting it up.. Plus local gatherings can be fun as well. Not a lot of memebers from my area, but a few south of me..
As to the Road trip. I drove from Ga to MN non-stop when i was in the Army. So Missouri isnt anything... My cousin lives in Columbia...

And to be completely honest if it wasnt so friggin hot it would be a blast to bring the bike down and pull a motor. its always fun to meet new people. Plus it never hurts working on a chevy....

hey man......I saw where u commented on my post about the interior lights I want to install in my truck. I want to wire them to my headlight switch so that they only come on when I have my headlights on, but I cant figure out all of those wires that are behind the headlight switch. & for some reason I cant seem to find a wiring diagram for that switch either.

Why won't my mustang just work!?

by Springthing on 11-07-2010 at 07:43 PM
So for the past year I've been having trouble with the mustang. It kind of sucks because that's my gas saver. It's a v6 mustang so it's good on gas.

The car started to lurch. The car started to stutter. The car started to hesitate on the road.

So after a little bit I got to being able to get the nerve up to fix what I thought was the issue. Plugs and wires.

So I did my plugs, my wires and I sat in the car and went for a short drive and POOF! it works

Uncategorized it's time to vent. Brakes on 1999 Suburban K2500. (Part 2)

by Springthing on 08-08-2010 at 01:52 PM
Friday morning I head up to the dealership. I have a few coffees in the waiting room and they come back, finally, with the fact that the ABS light is on because the front left (driver's) ABS sensor is out and needs to be changed out. But the whole assembly is one unit and needs to be changed out, along with the bearing thing..etc etc.

Until then, 'we can't bleed the brakes, the ABS system has to be full functional first'

They need to do both

Uncategorized it's time to vent. Brakes on 1999 Suburban K2500. (Part 1)

W. T. H?

I'm serious right now...wth is up with this stuff??

First, let me say....this is primarily me, venting. I've said most of this stuff before but now I need to get it all out.

I don't even know where to start.

I've had this Suburban for a few years. In that time I've had to replace the front pads four times. I've looked around, I've done some research, and I understand that the brakes for this truck aren't top notch. It won't stop

It's an engine SWAP! Laying the groundwork.

by Springthing on 07-30-2010 at 01:48 PM
More for my sake than anyone, I have decided to write a little about the 454 engine swap out of the 1999 Suburban. I won't be making a How-To, that's for sure, but it will be nice to chronicle the steps to getting a new motor in front of the truck.

I started by digging around a little, asking questions to people online, an engine builder in the area, and doing a little research.

With 205,xxx miles on the truck it's about time I just take care of the problem once and

Ultimate Truck Gear Rocker Pods - Real World Use Update!

by Springthing on 04-03-2010 at 10:21 AM
Weeeeeelll... it's been not quite a year since installing the Rocker Pods from Ultimate Truck Gear. Wow. Just... wow!

Florida.. Canada.. Vegas.. numerous trips to St. Louis, and countless local trips. I can only estimate but I believe I've gone about 20,000 miles since their installation last May(ish). If I went out side and cleaned them up with the hose right now - they would look like they were just installed yesterday. I kid you not!

They have gone through water,
