    Just saw this reply from you, hope you're getting out of the site everything that you hoped for.

    Thanks, Steve. Actually, I'm originally from the South, where common field laborers would get sunburned necks, hence "rednecks." The term has come to mean anyone who is uncultured and maybe a bit rough in character. I'm also a Baptist pastor, so the Rev in front just sort of fit.

    love the name! Just saw a special on the Smithsonian channel on how the name redneck referred back to the Scottish Covenanters and how they wore red kercheifs around their necks and were caled "Red Necks"
