It was pretty simple. Took a dremel with a thin cutting wheel and cut the lense off from the housing. Taped everything off and sprayed. As far as moisture getting in I could not ever get rid of it. I got tired of it so I sold them and bought the projector ones off ebay and had them smoked on the outside.

He did actually get about 18 hp. out of his, he had it actually dyno'd after he installed his dual exhaust and intake plus the programmer. I would definately go with the plastic tube though, the chrome tube is good looking and that is about it! Hope that helps..............AMY

Yeah the K&N looks cool, which is why I bought it in the first place. But I never saw any mpg gain or hp, maybe a little torque and it did make the exhaust have a nicer sound at idle. My buddy actually painted his intake to match his truck, he has the 57 series and it looks real good painted.
