97 c1500 suburban lift
My Father just gave me this Suburban, I have no experience with lifting these trucks, or anything else for that matter, I've lowered everything I have customized and could use some direction on lifting this 2wd suburban. I'm thinking 4/2 or 6/4 on 33's or 35's. I need advice on suspension lifts, wheel sizes as well as offset/ backspacing. Keep in mind, it will not see much if any off road action and I will be using it to tow one of my cars every once in a while to distant shows!!
FabtechMotorsports.com is the only company that I know that has a 2wd lift for a '97 Suburban. Its a 4" spindale lift with shocks and all mounting hardware part # FTS1588-7. You can only run a 32/11.50-15 on a 15x8 wheel with a maximun backspacing of 3 3/4". I'm not a fan of bodylifts but if you must have 35's than a 3" bodylift plus the Fabtech kit should let you run the 35's.

I forgot to mention unless the 'Burb has 4.10 or 3.73 rear gears than most likely you will have to regear and you will need to reprogram the trucks computer (handheld or custom tune) for the larger tires and if you regear.
