2007 Chevy Avalanche design
CHICAGO — Next up in General Motors' yearlong rollout of its redesigned full-size trucks and SUVs is the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, which will make its public debut next week at the annual midwinter auto show here.
The '07 Avalanche shares its underpinnings with the recently introduced '07 Chevrolet Suburban. It goes on sale in the second quarter. The Avalanche is a sister model to the '07 Cadillac Escalade EXT that was unveiled earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The new Avalanche features all-new sheet metal, a more refined cabin, additional power, better fuel economy, and additional safety features.
The Avalanche rollout comes about six months ahead of the introduction of the redesigned 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup and its companion, the '07 GMC Sierra.
What this means to you: Can't decide between a pickup and an SUV? Chevy still offers one of the few serious alternatives, a vehicle that combines the best features of both.
