Honestly a Glock may be the way to go in a 9mm they are extremely easy to shoot, and for first time shooters that's a big thing if you want to get them into shooting. I love my Glock easy to shoot simple to take a part and clean and extremely easy to carry, I forget I have it on me a lot of times just because it's so light.
and XD9 of some flavor in 9mm would be another good choice if you dont like the glocks to much, they point alot like 1911s.
So far we really like the Glock, but the XD9 is something I'm seriously considering as well
i have a regular sized xd9 and i love it. had very few issues (ammo related) easts most any ammo you put threw it, reliable, and simple to take apart. i have 2000+ rounds through mine.
Ok so here is my small collection as of now
From Left to Right
.22lr cricket for my daughter
Baby Desert Eagle BB gun
Crossman pumpmaster 760 BB gun
A 1911 and a bolt action rifle are still on the list to be added. I can also proudly say with the exception of the baby desert eagle bb gun all of my guns are made in the USA and will continue to be.
Here's a shot of my current loadout:
(TtoB, LtoR) Remington 870 tactical, Glock 23, Remington 1911 R1, Walther PPS, and my hatchet from United Cutlery. Have quite a few mods planned for the Shotgun, Glock, and maybe the 1911. Will eventually pick up a rifle when the cashflow comes back. Course that's also when I'll do the modding!
I may not have a helluvalot of guns, but I do have a descent amount of pointy objects! This is just a partial collection, by the way.
Close up of some of my favorites. Top two are Japanese with folded steel, and the others were hand crafted purchase over the years.
