Technically, if they took your photo w/o your permission then that's a copyright infringement. HOWEVER, under US federal law, if you take someone's original artwork and you alter it, then it becomes a new piece of artwork that they own. So the guestion is, did they change it enough to make it new?

you could contact them and offer to sell them the reproduction rights to your photo for the cost of a new grille. :-)
Actually they need to compensate you for your picture.
I have friend who shoots NFL, PGA, NASCAR And college sports.
He tells me that as soon as you snap the picture it is considered copy righted.
Any one using without your consent/permission is liable for use age fees deemed reasonable.
