Turns out it was the headlight wiring harness under the hood that had a short.

Let me ask you this, did you have problems with your lights as well?
Here's a great video on removing the ignition switch. I didn't produce it, but I wish I had watched it before I took mine apart. Would have saved me a few hours....

I have been working on vehicles for a good portion of my life, I am an amateur, but I'm good enough to have never taken a vehicle to a shop to get it repaired. Today may be a first for me....
Show us some pictures, I just recently painted my truck. I used a single stage paint, it's real easy and I could give you some pointers.

up my butt one...
I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Oil plus STP Oil Treatment!
I swear by the stuff.
