Glad it got fixed.

I actually prefer the Haynes manuals to Chiltons.
I also use this forum extensively when I'm troubleshooting. There are a lot of knowledgeable, friendly people on this forum who are quick to help.
Have a little update:
Was replacing the driver's exterior door handle and lock actuator yesterday and while I was unplugging and plugging in all the harnesses I heard the radio come on without the...

Silverado might be on to something... you might try dropping the starter and having it bench tested. I had a bad starter solenoid that wouldn't engage unless it had extra juice given to it.
91.4% sure it's not the ignition. Wheel locks, ignition is not loose/won't turn without key. The stereo was not playing when she got out of the car but was on when she got back in. Didn't happen...
My wife drives the 99 suburban as her daily driver. The last couple days when she's got in the car after it was parked for a while she found the stereo on (freaked her out the first time).
Pikey has a great list. Under tune up I'd add:
O2 sensors (primary) if they haven't been changed in a while
Clean MAF (mass air flow sensor) with electrical cleaning spray
Wash and WAX before...
Another possibility is the rear A/C condensation drain hose can get dirt and crud that blocks it which caused my floor to get wet. Check and see if that needs to be unblocked, especially if you've...

I'll have to agree w/ the Monroe's being crap. My fronts are rattling like crazy (sounds like a completely blown strut on a small front wheel drive car). Purchased them at Advance Auto so they'll...
The NP246 transfer case normally turns the front driveshaft, but that does not mean it is locked- there is no power going to it unless it's engaged in 4wd.
Sounds to me like between the previous...

That's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw it. I happen to really like the Flex, so the styling sits well with me.
I like the Denali interior, looks very classy but the color scheme on the Suburban...

I have done this a bunch over the last year, especially since one of the major auto stores gives gigantic discounts.
However, the only problem I've had is with returns / exchanges. This particular...

I grabbed some 07 Tahoe rims that had 265/70/17 for my 99 burban and no rubbing. I love the look, tires bulge out of the front fenders just a bit to give it an aggressive profile, but yet still a OE...

Nothing ugly about that bad boy. Nice burb!
I wouldn't chince on the cooling fan with a cheapo ebay unit. I've heard some of those have completely inadequate air flow, and it would be unwise to risk damaging a new engine over $50-$100.

My username comes from a modification of the musical group Family Force 5. They're quirky, I liked their first album and since I have 6 people in my family I thought it was a cool word play.

Welcome to the club.
I haven't seen a melted wire before, but it should be easy to check visually.
The fact your check engine light came on right before has me thinking that it could be something...
I remember installing a flex fan on my 75 Camaro and not only was it lighter but it increase in airflow was huge. Plus it was cool to see it flatten out when you pushed on the throttle. Though I read...
Thanksphoebeisis for the info on the pulse and glide. That's what I've been doing the last couple of years driving and have noticed a measurable increase in fuel economy. I usually pulse up to...

They actually use magnesium chloride. When it mixes with snow it turns into a weird raw pie crust consistency which I've labeled Smag (snow+mag chloride).
It does a great job of melting the ice but...
The first Matrix movie is my all-time favorite film. Something about the story line just speaks to the soul of a man. The sense that we need to wake up to our true identity and we are more powerful...

Had similar symptoms a few weeks ago the last 200 miles of a 1700 mile road trip with the family. Turned out to be the steel belts had separated on the front left tire... YIKES. Thank God for getting...
If you're fairly sure it's coming from the tranny I'd start with a fluid/filter change, especially if it hasn't been done in a while. I was having shuddering on my 93 Lincoln Town Car...
Found this http://www.fillernecksupply.com/servlet/the-2740/15644293-1992-dsh-1993-1994-1995/Detail for $50. You could put the part number in Google search and maybe find cheaper prices...

Speeding is against the law too. How does everyone feel about photo radar? What about photo enforced intersections for red lights? Personally, I'm conflicted. I don't want the US turning into the UK...
