WE are on our 4th truck camper, so have a bit of experience.
Depending on the model, these things can be very heavy, VERY heavy (our current truck camper- TC for short- is over...
Anyone here using load range G tires? Brands?
We have a pickup camper and are close to the weight rating of our load range E tires. Would like to have a bit more reserve capacity in our tires.
I did the roll on on the last truck I had. Prepped it thoroughly but even once cured it was easy to scratch off.
Just bought the truck in my sig. Using a model specific rubber bed mat until next...

All the folks here that are screwing around with intermediate shaft replacement, dealer recalls, dealer assumptions, and all the other stuff........
I did the 15 minute (that included misc...

I was the one who suggested the 8.1L in a different thread.
I have also heard from several forums that the V-10 sucks gas. Keep in mind that at 6.8L it is not that much bigger than the GM 6.0L

Thanks for looking folks- I'll be interested in any input. But it looks like what heartbeat added makes a simple lens swap a non-starter.
Glad someone likes the newer ones- not my taste. Kind-of...
My trusted local independent mechanic put it this way.
If you want to be comfortable, put in a block heater. (But it doesn't heat the oil in the pan.)
If you want to be nice to your engine do...

Simply put- if our trucks were side by side, could we just swap the red taillight lenses? Would mine fit on your taillight assemblies and would yours fit on my truck?
I would hope that...

My input- towing a box trailer- and since you are looking for 3/4 ton trucks
If you can, try to find one with the 8.1L/Allison trans.
Ive had both 6.0 and 8.1 engines- fuel mileage is just...

I REALLY don't like the look of the newer (mid- 2000s) taillight lenses- see the image.
I would prefer the style of the earlier lenses (like my previous 2002 2500HD) that are smooth and...

THAT WORKED GREAT!!
I've had my '05 2500 for a year and a half. Bought it with just 34000 miles on it but it already had the steering clunk. My local indy wrench manually repacked it...

Chiropractor in a very small town in northern New Hampshire. Also a Selectman in town government.
Always the possibility of a dead mouse in there. If it rains you will find out. A dead mouse smells. A wet, dead mouse really STINKS.
AND the 2002 8.1L I had was a really nice 4x4 crewcab. Shoulda' kept it..........
Thanks for the welcome.

We have had a few different RVs- this Lance is our latest and favorite.
Looks like I need to get the hang of posting pictures on this site.....
I have owned one (and STUPIDLY sold it for a diesel just before diesel fuel went $$$). The 8.1 motor was the BEST engine I have ever had. It got just about the same gas mileage as the...
