'06 3500 6.0L, 3.73's, fully loaded work van, been getting 12 this winter. Which is better than I expected. Plan on getting a Black Bear tune and see if that helps much.

this is a stab in the dark, but maybe an egr valve? that is a fairly typical problem with other vehicles that start and stall.

I also would not pay for those parts, or do the small claims thing....

I had one "ear" break on mine and I had the local welding shop weld it back on for like $15 Worth a shot

If there are hydraulic, there is a good chance all the fluid squirted out, but you would have seen that on the ground most likely.
