Found out how to test the intake for a vacuum leak... Just for further reference in case someone has the same problem...
Disconnect the breather and disconnect the pcv. cover both...

Please let me know if the intake manifold is a good candidate for the problems I'm having.
Truck: 1997 suburban K1500 4X4, engine: 5.7L Vortec
First off, NO coolant leaks. NO Loss of coolant!...
I have a 98 Burb, K1500. Fron diff is leaking from what appears to be the front driver's side.

That's right! It wasn't a big crash, but I would of expected some calateral damage. But I got nothing. In a more serious crash, I'm confident that me and my family are as safe as they can be.

I did! she is perfect! if it wasn't for the crunch sound and the cabby carnage, I woudn't of known we had an accident. We felt nothing in the cabin!

Wow! I didn't feel a thing! a cab cut me off really bad. I was in the turning lane and he decided he wanted to turn as well, from the next lane over!*lol
So the cab got torn up pretty bad... But...
it's normal to hear a moderatly loud "clank" when going into 4lo. All my GM 4X4 trucks did this.
I did have a truck that had a bad u-joint. The clank sounded much louder and hollow.
Sadly no, she can't have much down time. So it will need to be a get RAPED by GM dealer job. *sigh* So far I was quoted 7.5 hrs job! Yikes!
here is one of my actual fouled plugs. and another shot of the vacuum line.
notice all the white powder?
here is the vacuum hose that is not attched. according to the sticker, it's a test port?? I just hope there isn't another end to this hose somewhere.
Hehe! it's not your fault buddy. :) Without the proper tools, I'm just shooting in the dark here.
I have a feeling it's the intake gasket. Cracked between the intake poers if #3 and #5....
ok, did somemore useless work on the truck. Replaced a ground wire to the engine hoping it was a ground problem. readings did not change.
I'm starting to focus bak on the 2 fouled plugs that were...
Awwwwww CRAP!!!! Replaced the o2 sensor, same %$#@ Problem!
I had a feeling it wasn't the o2.
Same weird yellowish powder stuff on the o2 sensor I removed as there was on the fouled...
Argh!!! more complications!!!! Apperently there are 2 different o2 sensors for my truck. Depending on transmission??? With or without electronic transmission? How can I tell? it's a 97 K1500, with...
*lol* Reffer to maint. on this one! *lol*
I'm so releived that the harness was not actually hacked.. they told me someone hacked the harness to save a few bucks on a generic o2. (I thought that...
OMG!!!! That is the one! you sir are the man!!!! Do you have a part # for this? (prefferably a bosh #)
The one they gave me looked like a square connector and they checked with GM to confirm it...
So what you are saying is my o2 sensor needs an equipment swap do to ingress and packet loss?? :)
What worries me is the truck idles rough at startup... Should it not be in closed loop ignoring o2...
Here is some backgroud.

Exactly. :) I wasn't aware there was a difference in terms with ECM / PCM. I gguess I'm old school. I know that GM from time to time have "upgrades" to solve drivebility issues ect.. I want to make...

It's a simple decision. Go with the computer attachement. Scan tools are expensive to upgrade. PC software is very competitive. And from what I can see, the pc version has alot of extra features!...
