The front O2 sensors have been replaced (more than once) and 1 of the rear sensors replaced (wires pulled from the connector when the engine was installed). The 1 getting a heater error is probably...
Sounds like a plan.. still not sure about the hesitation/driveablity issues... I put the 2 together and expected to find some fuel or spark related problem to cause the errors. The other problem...
That was my understanding as well, but also the most popular error I've seen on any of my GMs. Usually replacing the O2 sensor fixes that, I just fear constantly replacing these things. Other than...
I just ran out and checked the current codes. This time it's getting:
P0141 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)

I had an old Blazer that blew the stoplight fuse all the time. Turned out that one of the turn signal enclosures was leaking and retaining water.
Seems obvious, but worth t try.
I'd probably start...

On the 5.7 (I just replaced my engine on 1999 Suburban), the oil pressure sending unit is in the block just behind the distributor on the driver's side. There's a 90 degree fitting and the sending...

I'm REALLY sorry! I am just seeing this now. This is hte long block I used:
I actually have not been terribly attentive to the...
I didn't want to start a new thread, but I went to reply in another thread regarding a new long block and realized mine is fairly different, and didn't want to interrupt there with a LONG post...

I JUST got my NEW GM Goodwrench motor delivered on 9/27... It's a 5.7 vortec long block from Jegs (1999 K1500 Suburban), delivered with no core charge for just over $2000. I looked around and can't...
Just to close this out -
I wound up replacing the engine. After pulling it, tearing it down and sending everything to the machine shop for estimates, a new GM engine was only about $400 more than...
Just wanted to throw out a quick update-
The truck is not totaly back together, but I pulled the lifters and pushrods and checked oil flow... the stuff that was in there was like mud so I drained...
From other forums I've been searching, it appears that IF I pull the lifters, I should be able to see oil at high volume pushing through those passages. Since I've had no (apparant)...
Have not done that, but I have replaced the filter 2x since the original intake gasket. My minor understanding of the oiling system is that it goes from the pan, through the pump, through the filter,...
UPDATE - Still not sure!!
Ok, so I took off the valve covers and they are pretty darn dry! The pass side is burnt on the larger surfaces between the rockers. Cranking the engine (ignition...

I'd have to agree with that... I just had the exact same thing on my 99... The truck finally came up for state inspection and I asked them to check it out, they found the leak from the rear of the...
They are hydraulic rollers... They require a base adjustment and then re-check after "x" miles... I've been having valve chatter on startup for a while, almost implying that the new lifters were...
Yeah, that's my fear. I've never been a fan of engine flush, but couldn't think of any other way to clean out the mess.
Not sure though... I've had a spun bearing and this really doesn't sound like...

I have a 99 Suburban k1500 and had the same dash/radio light problem. Dash is easy, as mentioned earlier... The radio was a battle, but if you have any circuit training and soldering skills... I was...
I have a tech question following the replacement of my intake gasket(s) on a 99 Suburban K1500, 5.7l with 132k miles.
First, I had coolant leaking at the intake manifold. The coolant was...
I just replaced my distributor. No fun at all, let me tell you! I did get an aftermarket, but due to finances, I got a generic plastic one. A few things to note, though -
There was no 'looseness'...
I am not much of a social person.. usually just me and my cars (and bikes and quads..). Basically I will work on anythng mechanical or detailed. I have WAY too many cars to keep...
