Had the same thing happen to me the morning I was going in for new pistons and rings. Had to change evap vent valve. Coulda done it my self cheaper but just didnt have time.

Well 400 miles out of the shop and carbon build up on new spark plugs causing a misfire again. Looks like its trade it in and be out of my hair or new rings and pistons this week

i would almost bet my life savings that when they did this procedure on my truck they didnt wait 2.5 hours. probably why im still fouling...

Damn sure would be nice to find a tsb on that jcat. Although my dealership already told me in a thousand miles they will go ahead and do the piston and ring swap.

so the rough idle was being cause by a fouled no 1 cylinder plug that wasnt pinging a code.
so so far ive fouled cylinder 7 and cylinder 1 which odly enough are the inactive cylinders in v 4...

took it back in this morning. made the service writer and tech sit in vehicle with me to feel and see exactly the issue i was talking about. i didnt want there to be any "i didnt notice anything"...

without a doubt.
just did a little test, let it sit for 2 hours in my drive way and went for a little drive. all was looking good good oil pressure no rpm ramping until about 10 mins of drive...

yeah i have the extened warranty 100K and all work being done under warranty.
well i picked my truck up and now i have a engine "knock" at idle. almost like a miss like the truck wants to stall...

good to know the 2012 are still having this issue too.
man i love this truck to. it is litterally my dream truck. i hate to get rid of it just want to feel comfortable long term.

started having the elusive oil burning issue with my 2010 Chevy Crew Cab z71 5.3 aluminum block with the 6 speed and AFM. A fouled no 1 cyclinder spark plug left me on the side of the road at 42,000...
