Not to put too fine a point on it, but if you buy Amsoil in any significant quantities, it is to your benefit to become a preferred customer, and you can then buy from Amsoil directly at wholesale...

Au contraire. You were able to get a 1500 with a Diesel up to 1999 or so. I have a K1500 Suburban which I will no part with. All 2500 parts except for the rear axle and springs.

I would really like to know why they dropped the 4.5 Diesel, particularly in light of the new fuel mileage standards. I have nothing to replace my 99 Diesel Suburban with, and was waiting for that...
You might also consider that rear drums are much more effective as parking brakes, which may be part of the reason they are used with towing/trailering packages. The tiny drums inside the rear disks...
