I agree with Terry (TMair) but I would still change the fuel filter and clean the the t/body because if they didn't service the air filter than most likely didn't service the other items.

'94s don't have a MAF. They went to MAF's in '96 with the new Vortec motor. You have TBI throttlebody injection. If the air cleaner was that dirty and negelected I would change the fuel filter first....

Neither will do much if anything for mpg's. I'd change ALL the fluids (engine, trans axles) to synthetics first. I picked up 1-2mpg's highway when I switched over.

I'd do a camshaft change. Its easy on the new LS type engines and they really like camshafr upgrades. Then a custom tune.

You will need a 36mm socket for the axle nut at the wheel side. Also a good impact ora big breaker bar.
