99 suburban 5.7 4x4
Two weeks ago my battery started going dead after the vehicle sat for a few days. I'm not sure how old the battery is but it's been in the truck since I have owned it. I took...

I just fixed a starting, sputtering, and low idle problem by cleaning the throttle body. Mine was filthy, it took less than 30 minutes and about $4.00 for a can of throttle body cleaner. So far that...

Here is an update.
I finally got some time and cleaned the throttle body. It was dirty as all get out when I looked at it. I gave it a once over and got it looking fairly clean and fired the Burb...

Thanks for the tip bazar01. I'll pick up a bottle of throttle body cleaner on the way home tomorrow. I looked up a couple of videos of the process and it makes sense. If nothing else i'm sure it...

So I switched out the cap and rotor yesterday and the first fire up was perfect, the rest back to the same ol same ol. I did notice that the inyards of the distributer look rusty and not so clean. I...

The Burb is a 99 1500 4X4...

I had a similar issue on a 99 burb last year. It turned that my distributer cap and rotor were in sire need of replacement. It was a fairly simple fix and relatively cheap. I would at least look at...

I'm having an issue with my 99 suburban when starting. Sometimes the truck won't start but has power to everything. If I jam the gear shifter (automatic) up and into park with some force she starts...

I second the cap and rotor. I had issues when I first bought my 99 burb and when I pulled the cap it was a mess in there. Made a huge difference!
Good luck and happy whomping down the road.
Im tracing a similar issue and think that I have it nailed down to a corroded distributer cap. No mechanic here, but going through the process of elimination and it led me to pulling the distributer...
