No, however, there's a pretty good chance that you have a leaking fuel pressure regulator which contributed to the early failure of the cat.
You have the 5.7, right? Fixing a leaking fuel...

Hello Nia. Welcome to da club
Years of experience have taught me very little but one thing I have learned is that you MUST have proper test equipment to run down problems of this nature. You...
Word is that there will be no 2500 Suburban for 2014. Dealers are selling from 2013 inventory, which they anticipate will last through the 2014 model year.
2015 brings a new platform. Possibly...
Did this job yesterday. It was hot and I was pretty cross by the time I was done, in part because my usually-reliable parts store screwed up a bunch of times requiring some extra trips.
Orifice tube is a $10 part and a few minutes to install if the system is already open. Usually the screen is half clogged with crap even if the old compressor didn't grenade completely.
I added a second battery to mine. There are a few Facts to Consider.
1) You can order the tray at any dealer. It's a common mod around here since the snow plow guys do it. The rubber battery...

Maybe, who knows. Or the relay or whatever doesn't work right.
It came with a plow. Maybe someone did some creative wiring to simplify the way the plow hooks up.
Pretty common maintenance item. Both my trucks have had all the power steering hoses replaced at one time or another.

My OBS truck doesn't have DRLs (1997).
On my NBS burb there are the separate DRLS which have their own bulb, in a parking-light type housing halfway between the headlights and the foglights. I...
You can find them on craiglist but most often you'll find people selling tires with rims included. So that makes it hard to search for them and you just have to go through a whole bunch of tire...
The chirps usually show up first when the alternator is under heavy load.
You can turn the headlights on for a few minutes before you start your truck to load down the alternator (since it will...
Dealers vary. One Fact to Consider is that some dealers work primarily or exclusively a certain way. There do exist volume dealers who are really only interested in selling from inventory. There...

Got a couple of lamps burned out for the backlights behind the buttons on the steering wheel and also behind the defrost button. It's irritating.
Any idea how hard these are to replace?
The tensioners, especially, are wear items and have to be replaced often. Take the belt off and see if there is any side play in the tensioner at all. If there is, replace it. Also check the...
Wiper linkage is shot on my K2500. How tough a repair is this? Do I have to take the instrument cluster out to get at it or just reach up under the dash?
If they are the power extend/power retract mirrors you can get replacement glass here:
I've used them and the products are an exact replacement for the OEM...

Trademarks are only protected by law within the industry where they are used or where they might confuse purchasers. There is also a requirement to defend the trademark since a pattern of otherwise...

Thanks for the photo.
I am unfamiliar with the details of the 2005-up voltage regulators but I know a thing or two about batteries and charging controls and can guess at most of it.

I would like to see the technical forums split up by era rather than by body type.
In other words most of my NBS posts apply equally to Yukon, Suburban, and Pickups. But they don't apply to NNBS...

A photo might help. Usually there's a red plastic plastic splice box in the positive cable where the cables for the alternator, starter, and battery come together.
I've had an ongoing problem with wind noise with my '06 burb, coming from the door seals.
Has anyone replaced theirs? Difficult job? Are the aftermarket parts any good or do I have to get them...
Consider your alternatives carefully.
In general there are all kinds of good deals out there on OBS (1999 and earlier) 'burbs and although the 2500 burbs are hard to find you may still be better...
Not much difference between nitrogen and dry air.
Some folks say that the oxygen in the air binds with the metal in the rim or the rubber in the tire leading to a loss of pressure. I'm...
It's hard for me to tell. It's certainly an improvement on noise and manners over the Toyo Open Country tires it replaced but I think much of that was size (the Toyos were oversized while I have...
It varies among models. My 'burb has the 38 gallon tank (well, actually two tanks, but they're set up so that the driver never needs to know that). So without a trailer I get 13, maybe 14 mpg, and...
