I live in Wisconsin so know all about the rust. I am actually hoping mine isnt as bad as yours on the fuel lines, but I think mine is leaking. Good luck with the project.

That seems to be a good deal. With all electronics included. I paid the same amount and didnt get new vanes and stuff for the pump.

If you are mechanically inclined then, I would definetly try it.
I spent about 700, but that was for upgraded internals, clutches and metals.
Get the dvd and the book. Also if it shifts good...

Is there a way to tell which ones went where?
Also on the 3-2 downshift solenoid there is two springs on that valve. How exactly do they go in? ...

well the internals are back together. The ony thing left is the valve body to be put back together.

so tranny is apart and I am starting to put back together.
How cheap would a shop do the teflon rings, or cn I do it myself with stuff found around the shop instead of buying the expensive tools?
depending on mileage, fluid change can help.
A trans cooler seperate from the radiator would help also.

Almost got the trans out. Just one more bolt and it should be out.
By the way the trans fluid was blacker then black and smelled extremely burnt.

What does the shift kit change?
Yeah I saw the thread and it looks like it will help. If I dont have the tool I will take it to a machine shop to have it pressed on or applied.
shouldn't change it at all as you are still using the factory suspension.
that sounds like a solinoid or valve body, not internal.
I would get a second opinion.

Well I have burnt up my 3-4 clutches, so I have decided to rebuild.

M30 on the side of the trans would indicate a 4l60e/700r4. i do believe 1993 and older is 700r4 and 1994 and newer is the 4l60e.
I have one on my 94 and dont fell much difference then an engine without one. It has been a while since i have driven without one though.
ps, it was on there when I bought the truck.
