    Did they try to clear the codes, when you had it scanned. If you had your own scanner, then you could leave it hooked up. To see which code comes up first.

    I had to remove to fan shroud & loosen the bottom...

    I had to remove to fan shroud & loosen the bottom shroud to get to the choke valve. Had to use a pair of pliers to get to turn, but be careful not to damage it. They are prone to leaking.

    On the A/c Part have you checked the pulley/ clutch on A/C compressor? The whole unit should turn with the a/c on. If the middle part does not turn, your clutch could be bad or power to the clutch.

    You can also measure the thickness of the drum....

    You can also measure the thickness of the drum. There is over 1/4" difference in thickness between the 10" & the 11" shoes. The 10" x 2.24". The 11" x 2-3/4".
