Miller - you didn't mention the year of your truck but there are 1, 2, 3, and 4 row radiators available. In addition to that, there are single and double-pass designs as well (these refer to the...
You're right, that IS odd.
Nothing comes to mind unless there is a feature like some Dodges where the accessory function works for a while after the key is off. But then it would have done it...

My 90 R2500 is geared the same - TH400 and 3.73's. The difference is the 454 under my hood.
But I still get 10-12 mpg.
You can do the 700 swap, but I'll bet you don't see more than 1-2...
You're right - I'd take it back, too.
If the light in the dash works, even intermittently, it's obviously not burnt out and the wire is connected.

Just bought my second Burb and couldn't agree more! A nice change from the more modern stuff....and no payment book.
I agree with Jacqson. You can find another axle shaft at a wrecking yard for cheap (probably buy the whole rear end for $100) but they probably won't warranty it. I suspect they want to sell you a...

I can't answer about the different sender location, but in the winter mine does the same thing. My guess is that there is sufficient change in cooling efficiency (the radiator cools better/easier...
Started to mention spring perch width, but then I re-read and saw it was a 3/4 to 1/2 swap.
I was just thinking today how nice it was to not have all off the crap that the newer Suburbans have - no DRL, airbags, electronic this & that, etc.
Simple, easy and cheap to fix.
