I had a 2000 Z71 with 3.73's and the 265 tires from the factory, (ordered truck). Never tried with chains, just go slow if you do use them. BTW will have to have ECM flashed for the tire size change.

Well after long consideration and research, I finally settled on a set of H2 wheels and Michelin 285 - 70 x 17's. As shown in the pics they are taller and thus slow the RPM's down on the highway.
Tailgate profile is different between 800 and 900 trucks. Early spoiler cap won't fit right. Wheels are right on. Hummer H2 wheels will also fit.

If you are refering to the rubber mat, I have had one in my 2000 and now in my 06 with no problems. If you mean the carpet type, believe these are form fitted so that air can get under it easily.
