Those were one of the best options GM ever put on their trucks/SUV's! I had one on my 93 Suburban and really wish they still offered it so I could have one on my Avalanche. As Enkei suggests any...

When was your last tune up?
Have you added anything to the fuel...

I can't answer your question, but a little research by the parts guy to compare part numbers on the rear glass for those years should help you get a better handle on the situation.
