I had a 2000 Z71 with 3.73's and the 265 tires from the factory, (ordered truck). Never tried with chains, just go slow if you do use them. BTW will have to have ECM flashed for the tire size change.

Well after long consideration and research, I finally settled on a set of H2 wheels and Michelin 285 - 70 x 17's. As shown in the pics they are taller and thus slow the RPM's down on the highway.

I have a 2500 as you do and you are right that the stock 245-75x16's look horrible in the wheel wells. I have been doing research on this subject.
The 285's should fit fine, BUT you should replace...

Hummer H2 wheels on 2500HD truck?

Have been looking at different wheels for my 06 3/4 ton Silverado for about a year, and haven't seen anything that I like. The truck has the 16x6.5 forged aluminum wheels on it which limits the size...

Don't have to cut OE muffler

When I changed mine I was able to get the system out without cutting it. Have a OxAc torch handy to heat the 2 bolts that hold the pipe to the cat flange, then drop the front down and "unscrew" the...
