If you are avoiding 4wd because of how the springs look, you may want to reconsider. The old straight axle 4wd will take you where ever you want to go, 2wd will limit you pretty quickly. I have a...

I say put some glasspacks on her and let her talk nasty to ya!
Everyone that I know runs flowmaster 40s or 44s, sounds good to me but its all in what you like.

Found this site that walks you thru the dizzy setup so that the CAM angle will be close. I haven't done mine yet but will most likely do so tomorrow.
Setting up a vortec distributor
Thank God that was a cheap fix compared to what it could be.

Sounds like you have a loose connection or a your motor is about to take a poop on you. They aren't very expensive, but they do take some time to change out.
So none around me has the scan tool that will read cam angle. I would rather not spend $$$$$ on the stealership to set it up. Does anyone know another way to do it.
I also have a vibration under...
I got confirmation that the previous owner tried setting the timing the realized he couldn't because of the vortec motor. I need to find a scanner that will read the cam sensor.

I would have to say that Hunting Season is my favorite season! But I like to bass fish also, so I really don't like Feb-Mar............and thats about it.
I have tried the ATF trick on an old 383 I had a few years ago. It seemed to work great. Seafoam seems to work pretty darn well also.
A few years ago, an old mechanic friend-of-the-family told me...
how do you know you have fuel to the Carb? is the pump kicking on when you turn the key into the "on" position?
The computer should throw a code for bad ECM. The pump may still be bad, even if it...
Thanks for the kind welcome. I am looking to make this a great DD and pick up an extra "project" in a couple of months. In the mean while, my Z71 will needs:
1. Timing set
2. Driver Door bushings...
I found this site while hunting for some helpful instructions. I just picked up a 1996 z71 from the original owner a few days ago. Funny thing was, I wasn't actually looking to...
