Still confused why there are no TC RPO codes being listed though, maybe Build Sheet error or CompNines error?
GU6 is a 342 ratio, highway gearing
I think the only trucks that use that is the 4.8 and 5.3L , so if you are going that route would be a light duty use 4x4
and as asked, what are your 4x4 needs
Piece of Cake........
Money however, using used parts plan on about $15-2000+
Depends on what type of 4x4 your looking for.....
"Auto" type, not a easy/realistic swap
2WD and Part time 4wd,...

Some are listed with the NP8, which I believe is the...
Just requires replacing the rear housing [or some have successfully externally patched it], then just pull off the rear case and add a pump rub kit
lots of right ups on it
Just to be safe, I would check a couple of things first and
It would helpful to know that TC you had
Certain TC's had a popular problem with pump rub which wears a hole in the case and many suffer...
Depends on what you have?

Ujoints don't have to have play, to be bad
When the dry out [usually squeek] they create a "arthritis" type of condition, meaing the joint cannot rotate properly and causing balance/vibration issues...
They also make a kit, 1000
which is just the body and a slide rod, you would have to lay on the ground and loosen a set screw, but alot cheaper near $70
or you may be able to modify your thermal...

The G80, is only a designation for a "limited slip" "type" of axle
My 02 Avalanche had the G80 RPO, which was the gov lock type
My C5500 had the G80 RPO, which is the torsen type which is closest...
Probably grade 5 would suffice, but for the minimal cost difference and peace of mind... Grade 8
gr 5 has three outward line stamps on the head,,,, gr 8 has 5
Sorry, that would have helped....... 99-2006 series
Hard to believe what sellers tell you get the sale. I was told by one ebayer selling a diff
that if it was RPO G80, it would be in front and...
