    Default Removing Emblems

    I bought a tailgate for my GMC and it has the plastic "Silverado" on it. whats the trick to removing it?

    Thanks Mike! Lived in Pueblo for 40 years before coming to Michigan in 2010! Ran a speed shop there called Performance Associates.

    The links provided before my post are great... here is what I have done.

    1. Heat gun or hair dryer - Used to loosen up the tape/glue so you can work it off. Be patient don't force it.
    2. WD40 - Works well to loosen the glue on the remaining tape.
    3. Old Credit Card - To scrape off the tape/glue.
    4. PrepSol - Nice to clean most of the remaining glue/residue.
    5. Buffing/Polishing compound - removes that last little bit of glue.

    Wow, that's a long time. I make it down there every once in a while, as there are some great roads with plenty of scenery when heading West. Plus, I have a couple of friends down there as well, so it always makes for a nice visit.
