HID fog lamps
I am going to be purchasing the HID kit for my fogs on 07 Silvy.....do I need a relay like you do for the headlights ? If I don't need it I won't get it.

I personally wouldn't do HIDs without a relay.
I've known and met a number of people whose dead ballasts took out other truck components at the time of ballast death. (One lost his truck's computer because of it.) There are even posts on this site by individuals who have had electrical problems after the death of a ballast
Thus, I see use of relays as VERY inexpensive insurance and would do it even if an installer said I didn't need to. The costs of fixing the damage that -might- occur if there's a ballast problem more than covers the cost of the relays ... and you gain peace of mind.

Thanks....that is great to know. I didn't know that a dead ballast would do damage to other components as well. Relay it is.

I agree with surreal. My hid kit for my fogs and low beams came with relays so I didn't have to bother purchasing them2009 chevy 1500 z71 4x4
