    Default ABS problems

    Hey i have a 2000 silverado 2500 with all disk brakes and occasionally while driving the abs and brake light come on and i lose abs. sometimes the lights dont turn on and i have abs and there is no problem. It usually turns on when i hit allot of bumps then i turn the truck off turn it back on and it goes away ? whats happenin

    this is the hubs. when they start to go the abs light comes on over bumps just driving down the road no braking.

    jack up both front wheels and check hubs . push the brake pads back so they do not drag on the rotor. place 2 lugs nuts on to hold rotor secure. then disconnect the speed sensor and measure the ac voltage when rotating the hub at a good rate by hand. you must have .35volts or more AC . most will put out .5volts AC.

    remove the sensor. use penitrating oil. rotate gently when removing these are very cheap.

    IF THE GREASE IS RUSTY COLORED JUST REPLACE THE HUBS .

    ONLY BUY A TIMKEN HUB ! AFTERMARKET HUBS ARE CHINESE CRAP.
