performance MAF's a gimick?
Are performance mass airflow sensors just a gimick? Companies claim that their performance MAF sensor will add HP and MPG and improve overall engine performance. Is there any truth behind these claims?

I have heard both sides of the story...some say it helps. others say there a waist of money..I guess the only way to know for sure is take a chance, buy one, run it on a dyno before and then after install and see what ya come up with!?Justin - Beavercreek,OH

I have used one before. With only a cold air kit, the MAF seemed to help a little. After tuning the computer, it seemed to run a little lean and had some spark knock when it was hot outside (95+ with 100% humidity here at the time) even using 93 octane fuel. This was on my 06 Vortec Max Silverado.
