    Default Best SUV for offroad?

I came across this today: http://autos.aol.com/gallery/top-10-off-road-suvs . I love when they make reports like this. It always leads to a bunch of extra cash in my pocket this winter as the folks with their stock explorers try to run with the big boys at the local mud pit. I just sit there with my tow strap and wait. When the snow flies will be another chance to make some extra cash. It never fails that some moron in his land rover attempts to jump a snowbank, goes thru it rather then over and has to open the back hatch to get out because the snow bank they punched thru is tight around the sides of his SUV.

Who wrote that list. All those SUVs are not that great on terrain they are luxury SUVs not off road demons. Only SUV on there built for terrain there is the Wrangler and maybe the Grand Cherokee. The real list should include Tahoe, Suburban and their GMC and Caddy counterparts. Nothing beats good old fashioned 4x4 traction coupled with raw V8 power and tons of ground and suspension clearance.

That was a pointless list, it seems like the writer has no experience off the road. I can say from experience, Grand Cherokees suck in the mud/snow

Best SUVs I have ever used off-road were an Isuzu trooper:

    and a Bronco II

I had a Full Size Bronco, but I would rather have the Isuzu or the B2 (in that order)

id take a trailblazer on 33s over any of that crap on that list. the 4.2s were no slouches for torque.

List is crap, the author has probably been outside of the city. Its just an article about SUV's thrown together in 20 mins. The only ones that I would take is the Wrangler and FJ but others are just groceries getters

I don't know how the newer Grand Cherokee's are but my old 5.9l limited was a beast. The only down fall of that one was the inability to put into 2wd. It had the crappy quadratrac (I think that is what it was). I would take a stock Rubicon Jeep anyday over any of the others on the list.
