    Default 97 rear end specs

I'm looking at a full float rear end off a 97 chevy 2500. Anyone know what axle that is? The 9.5 or 10.5? What gears would it have came with? Had a 454 in it before. I'm newish to chevys and am having a hard time finding the info..

The full float rear (14 bolt) had a 10.5 inch ring gear. It could have 3.42, 3.73, 4.10 or 4.56 gears. If the axle is still on the truck check the glove box door for the rpo code GU6 for 3.42, GT4 for 3.73, GT5 for 4.10, or HC4 for 4.56. Also, If the tag has G80 on it, the axle has a Gov-Lock.
