2013 Traverse LTZ or 2013 Acadia SLT-2.

A friend of mine is looking at either an Acadia or Traverse.

From what I can see for the money, the Traverse comes better equipped.

The LTZ comes standard with 20" wheels while the Acadia, 20" wheels appear to a $2137 option!!!!!!!!!!

On chevrolet.com and gmc.com, the price difference was ~$4000.

In general there are some differences between the GMC Acadia and the Chevy Traverse. First, I think more stuff comes standard on the Acadia, but all that goes out the window when you're talking about the LTZ package ... because that's got to be loaded.

There are differences with seating, the number of power outlets (more on GMC I think) and the exterior body panels are different. I happen to think they did a great job with the 2013 refresh of the grill for the Traverse. I'm not sure what was done with the 2013 Acadia but I can find out.

Oh, and GMCs often have a better resale value overall because they don't usually sell a bunch of stripped down GMCs to the rental fleets, which actually hurts the resale value for all of the less-fully equipped vehicles and it even hurts the fully equipped ones a little bit believe it or not. That's always been a problem with Chevrolet ... too many stripped-down vehicles go into the rental fleet and then flood the market as 12-month used cars with 10k to 20k miles.

Thanks for the input.

He went to a GMC dealer to look at an Acadia and the GMC dealer was pretty snotty to him telling him he is a fool to look at a Traverse, the Acadia is SO much nicer and better built, blah, blah, blah.
