    Default Trailblazer rear window

I have an aftermarket rear window on my 2002 Trailblazer. The bracket that holds the hydraulic lift on the right side came off the window.

They're supposedly coming Saturday to see if they can glue it back on. They come factory set, so they may have to eat this $1200 piece of glass and give me a new rear window. Read the contract folks.

Safelite came out with a new window this AM. Guess what? ANOTHER serious manufacturers defect and the bolt holes won't line up! Can you believe it?

Plus, it looks like the tech slightly damaged the upper cowling that holds the window in place, it's not worth noting unless it gets worse next time they put a piece of glass in. Probably next saturday!

Boy your having a helleva time with this glass replacement. Thats pretty odd that it doesn't fit. I take it thats your insurance company sending safelite out?

It's me! I cant use my rear window!

Well, I can see through it, but I don't think I can lift it up. They're blaming the aftermarket glass manufacturer and they're going to bring me genuine GM glass when they come back, so they say.

I'll post pics later today to show you the problem.

Here is the overall picture. It looks good, but it's only 1/2 bolted down! That's right, there is ANOTHER factory defect from this Safelite glass that has caused the bolt holes to not line up. (Plus, they put some gouge marks into the top window cowling/cover. )

Here are some close-ups of the gouge marks. They may be able to fix this with some putty, but it looks horrible now. You can see glue sliding out from under on the other side.

The right side bolts up fine!

The LEFT side does not bolt up! Notice there are no bolts!

Not a professional job. They may be able to glue that down and make it look normal.

Why does mine appear to be a different bracket?

They must have realized they needed a better design so they re-did it for 2003 from 2002.

I have a question regarding this. My rear window came loose from the bracket. Surprisingly enough I went to the dealer since it wasn't hit, nor forced, and the shocking price of $1200 to have the whole window changed. they removed the shocks from the window to avoid the pressure on the window and I am not opening the window at this time (didn't really open it before which is the strange part) has anyone had this problem before. I thought maybe one of those glass companies will be able to glue it back together or something... any thoughts on that?...
