Default Chevy Silverado Climate control problems

I own a 2003 Silverado, Z-71. I recently replaced my battery and thats when my problems started. When I switch the A/C on, either on AUTO or manual the air blows through the defrost vents. It starts out on the normal dash vents but in a couple of seconds it changes and will only blow through the defrost and the same happens with the heat. The air is cold like it should be but no matter what I try I'm not having any luck getting it back to normal...

Sounds like the mode door actuator...

Surreal is right, sounds like that to me as well. I had the same problem with an Envoy, I managed to reset the actuator motors by disconnecting the battery a second time. Actually, I had to do it 3, or 4 times, changing the position of the control knob each time until it worked correctly.
