Chrome clad aluminum wheels.
My new 2013 Silverado has 20" chrome clad aluminum wheels. If what I'm reading is correct, chrome clad is that thin chrome is glued to the aluminum wheel.
My main concern is this durable? The wheels look great IMO. I live here in St. Louis and they salt the roads during the winter. Does GM give their customers flak if the wheels need replacing if that cladding comes off?

I doubt if it is glued to the aluminum, it is usually electroplated.Ray

Good question. I have the same clad chrome wheels, and although the cladding is coming loose on one wheel, the rest still look great after 43k miles and 3.5 years. We get snow and ice here a couple of times per year, and the wheels are still looking good. Just cleaned up the truck after the hurricane and after a wash and dry they look great.2009 GMC Sierra 5.3L running on E85
