new Knight Rider TV movie

has anyone seen the promos for the new Knight Rider TV movie on NBC? they're using a f@rd rustang as KITT!!
like they couldn't have used one of those new GTO's???

Either way I am kinda interested to see what all they come up with. I think it will be alright...if nothing else, from what I have seen of the car so far, it looks pretty bad ass...

I refuse to watch it since its a mustang. they should have used a GTO like Jeff said!

I think when you get into stuff like this, Ford probably paid the production company some big buxx to get it's car used in the show. Honestly, I don't get it. Ford has not been known for performance cars as of lately, they've been trying to go green. The stang is a big seller still though.

Yea, Ford has been covetous of the KR brand for a while. Does anyone remember the Knight Rider 2000 series, in which there were several operatives, and each one drove a different FMCO vehicle that matched their personality. Super Gay, and shortlived.

Ford shells out huge amounts of money for product placement like this (GM too... see Transformers). If you saw "I am Legend", you notice every car that ever drives is a Ford. Even the Military, when escorting his family to the dock, is driving a Expedition. Yea right.

I did watch Clive Owen's "shoot em up" last night, which I decided is actually a black comedy, since the gunfights were comically absurd, (and I think they were intended to be so) and every car he drove was an old BMW. This seems a little odd, but if you remember, Owens got his start with BMW films in the late 90's driving BMW's like a bat out of hell!

In closing, Ford sucks, and so will the new Knight Rider. It just doesn't translate well with all the advances in technology that have happened since the original.

I was a little supprised on to see they chose a ford mustang for the show.

I guess who ever pays the bill thats the car they use :|

like the others said they should have used the gto or even the camaro. i wont be watching it. rustang that took away from the original show.

I know they did a smokey & the bandit TV revival in the mid-late 90's. They used a then new body style Camaro, but they didn't have CBs, it was cell phones. Anyone catch that?
